Cauliflower Alley Club Director Les Thatcher joins the show to talk about his illustrious career the in the Professional Wrestling. What and when is the Cauliflower Alley Club Reunion? Who was his trainer Tony Santos? Where is his Wrestling Weekly co-host Doc Young? Plus discussion of Jr Heavyweight wrestling, Michael Hayes’ suspension, and the Benoit Case one year later, amongst other subjects to discuss.

The Cauliflower Alley Club is a nonprofit organization dedicated to assisting retired and active participants of combat sports since 1965. Each year they hold a Reunion Banquet to commemorate the careers of individuals in the Pro wrestling business who have excelled to the pinnacle of the craft. It also serves to reconnect veterans and for the younger generation of Wrestlers to network and learn from their predecessors. It is opened to the public and it benefits the efforts of the Club pending prior registration. This year it will be held at the Riviera Hotel & Casino in Los Vegas, Nevada.

UPDATE (06-12-2008) I also want to announce that officially the Invisible Web/Fools’ Gold blog on the left side of this page will officially be my blog again. Due to inspiration I received now as a member of the Combat Hooligans staff that page will be updated at least twice weekly I hope.

Episode 9: My First Season Finale (Featuring Taylor Ellwood and Bryan Alvarez)
Thursday November 01st 2007, 7:27 am
Filed under: Pro Wrestling, The Unique~!, Neo Paganism

This episode is dedicated to Breyer P-Orridge.

In the finale of the first season of my show, we celebrate Angel-Devil Day, Halloween (Samhain), and the Day of the Dead with two amazing encounters!! And this episode is definitely not for the faint of heart~!

As we are talking about lascivious subjects on the show such as trust and imagination and goals, if you are or consider yourself a minor, live in a state that teaches abstinence-only sex education, or just want to learn more about your body in a humorous manner, please visit the non-profit website Scarlet Teen.com.  Remember to donate to their cause as they  provide a service to the community at large!!

In the first half-hour I interview EsoZone speaker and Magickian Taylor Ellwood. Topics of discussion included: how he evoked hir significant other LUPA (the previous guest); how the mind can literally change the body; what gnosis is and how to achieve it through kink sex; and how to use SqueEnix RPG characters to enhance your sex magick~! (see the above warning~!)

You can read more from LUPA and Taylor Ellwood at http://thegreenwolf.com/

In the second half-hour I interview the editor of Kayfabulous.com, better known as Figure 4 Weekly Online, and the new host of the preeminent Wrestling Observer Live radio show, Super Chico Alvarez (whom Chris Jericho dubbed the next Frank Oz). We discuss: gymnastics; his time with the Youth Wrestling Federation; BUDDY WAYNE and Vinny V; and a Fortean encounter in Bothell, WA he will never forget.

What more can you ask for than two 5* interviews in one show? How about whacky ads from my colleagues at CombatHooligans.com and KarlStern.com?

And thats all folks for the premiere season of the show.  In my time not podcasting I will be working on a text interview with the Meta-Magician Philip Farber and perhaps more Fools’ Gold reviews on Human Weapon Judo, Pankration, and MMA, and Last One Standing Huka Huka Wrestling and Aki Kiti Kickboxing~!

How do Pagan writers meet their significant others? I attempt to get answers to those questions with my guest, LUPA the Greenwolf, Therianthropic Otherkin, Neo-Pagan, and Occult writer. We discuss hir experiences working with sci-fi/fantasy writer Storm Constantine as well. We also talk NEON GENESIS Evangelion (~!) briefly. Next episode we get hir significant other, Taylor Ellwood’s side of the story in the season semi-finale (I might probably take a hiatus until early December).

Episode 7: My Very Special Interview with Margot Adler ~!

Episode 7: My Very Special Interview with Margot Adler ~!

http://invizweb.sslpowered.com/Shows/Inviz%20Web%20Ep%207.mp3

On a very special episode of the Invisible Web to commemorate Pagan Pride Month, Margot Ader, author of Drawing Down the Moon, the classic survey of Wicca and Neo-Paganism, and a true elder in the Wiccan Neo-Pagan community is interviewed. We discuss her childhood. What is Wicca and Neo-Paganism, and when did she become an active participant in this community? We talk of possible places for magic and fantasy in the world today. Some (in)famous characters are brought up (BOB~!, The Discordians Thornley and Hill, and the Church of All Worlds). As if anyone else will do a spirituality-topicced podcast this week with Witches, pranks, unicorns, THE NECRONOMICON of SIMON (and whether or not He is the MASTER of Disguises, and who he is not), and great Ambient Goth Folk music~!

I, Alan Lee, once again sincerely thank Margot Alder for interview with our show and for all of her work to promote non-mainstream religious movements. Due to technical audio difficulties I was not able to get her to plug her show or appearances. To listen to Margot’s work on Justice Talking and National Public Radio (as a correspondence and regular voice on the Morning Show and All Things Considered, follow the respective links below).

Drawing Down the Moon, the seminal study of the Wiccan and Neo-Pagan spiritual movements during the 1970s has now been revised (a few years back) to give updates on some of the key players as well as provide a directory of web resources to inquiring minds. We have to thank Penguin Books for this~! Margot’s autobiography, Heretic’s Heart, has also been reprinted, by Beacon Press, since 1998. Both can be purchased now at any respectable bookstore across the world.
The ISBN number for Drawing Down the Moon is 0143038192. For Heretic’s Heart search, 0807070998.

I also cordially thank Wendy Rule who has given me permission to use her wonderful music for this humbled show. Wendy Rule is a Melbourne-based Gothic Ambient Folk musical artist, who also happens to be a Witch. This week’s opening is a sample of “Deity” from the album Deity. The ending theme is “La Femme de la Mer.” You can learn more about Wendy by visiting her website or Myspace page as listed below:
