Filed under: MMA , The Unique~!, Podcasts, Neo Paganism

On this episode of the Invizible Web, I interviewed Fortean Times contributor, Disinformation World News senior correspondent, and freelance MMA blogger, Joe Nolan. We compare life in the Motor City and Music City. We discuss how Joe started writing with Fortean Times, hooked up with the Disinfo Crew, and prepare against Austin Gandy’s episodic Discordian barrages. Finally we talk MMA and the Martial Arts: Who are some of his favorite fighters, GAMENESS, and what he really thinks about PRIDE compared to the UFC.

The opening song was Dick Justice’s “Cocaine.”

The second song was Joe Nolan’s “Walkin’ with the King.” It is part of the King album. Download it here with other tracks.
The third song was Joe Nolan’s “The Night Comes.” It comes from the Blue Turns Black album. You can listen to it here on his Myspace Music page.
The closing track was Joe Nolan’s “Dead Man’s Song.” It comes from the Blue Turns Black album. You can also listen to it here on his Reverbnation Page.

The Invisible Web Episode 21 (0302) - Fighting 63 in Japan

On this episode of the Invisible Web I interview Roxanne Modafferi, who is one of the headliners for the inaugural GCM VALKYRIE MMA show on Saturday, at Tokyo’s Differ Ariake (doors open 1:00 PM Tokyo and 2:00 is bell time). We discuss the etymological origins of her family name, her mini feud with Megumi Yabushita, training with the Wajyutsu Keishukai Network (Caol Uno and Yushin THUNDA Okami), anime, and more. And as a bonus I read Time and the Gods by Lord Dunsany. Roxanne’s official website. Fightlinker, her top sponsors who sell her t-shirts. Time and the Gods at Project Gutenberg.

UPDATE: Roxanne won the decision in her fight today at the inaugural VALKYRIE show against Chisa Yonezawa. Congratulations~!!

Episode 4: Our King of Dragons

https://invizweb.sslpowered.com/Shows/Inviz%20Web%20Ep%204.mp3

MMA journalism pioneer, former Pro-Wrestling referee and manager, and court certified Combat Sport historian in the state of Georgia, Dragon King Karl Stern descends from his bayou mountain temple to grace us for almost an hour. We discuss his dominion over all dragons including Godzilla, Bahamut, Bruce Lee, and Ultimo Dragon. His certification of being a Combat Sports expert and the case that led to that. Traveling the US and Mexico by motorcycle can get cold. More June 23 synchronicities. And we talk about his now- controversial Al-Jazeera conspiracy theory. What is Zen to him?

The opening theme this week is Seraphic Panoply ‘s Inner Space.  You can hear more from Seraphic Panoply on their website at: http://www.seraphicpanoply.com.

This week’s ending theme is Dan Sargeant’s cover of Fly Me to the Moon.  It can be found in this link to Garage Band: http://www.garageband.com/artist/dansargeant
